How to Get Clothing Dirt Cheap

Learning how to save money on clothing requires more than just refusing to buy an item or just waiting for it to go on sale.  It involves finding creative ways to spend less for your clothing needs or desires.  Some creative ways you can reduce the amount of money spent for clothing are:

1. Organize a closet or clothing swap. Invite family, friends and neighbors to bring gently used or new clothing they no longer need or want to swap with others.

 You can even shop your own closet and possibly find coordinates.

2. Forget the stigma about shopping at thrift stores and consignment shops.  You can find real treasures at these stores.  The clothing are usually gently used and sold “as is”. Some items are new with the hang tags still attached.  Jeans and tops are economical finds at thrift stores.

4. If you like designer clothes consider shopping sample sales.  Sample Sales are popular in large metropolitan cities.  However, you do not need to live in a big city to enjoy sample sales. 5.  Use promo codes. Promo codes can be found at coupon databases such as http://www.retailmenot.com , http:// www.promotionalcodes.com or http://www.currentcodes.com .  These sites list codes from leading retailers.  Another way to find promo codes is to do a search in Google: coupon+code+vendor’s name. Example: coupon+code+JCPenney.  This search should bring up a list of sites where the codes can be found.
